I Chronicles 7 – 19
“21 And who is like your people Israel, the one nation upon earth whom God went to redeem for himself, to establish for you a reputation for great and awesome things”
I Chronicles 17
The best blessing in the entire known and unknown universe is being one of God’s chosen people. Being a part of a select group of people chosen by the Almighty Himself is something no one can imagine its significance. One thing to know or understand, however, is how do we become God’s people or how do we get chosen? Our Lord says, “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Moreover, He later says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
What we can take away from God’s word and how the selection process goes is this; there is nothing we can do to earn God’s selection. It is by God’s grace alone that we are chosen; however, once we’ve been selected and committed to Him, we must honor Him in our behavior and by exemplifying the fruits of the Spirit. We can’t earn His grace or His selection, but we can demonstrate Him in other people’s lives by showing what it means to be God’s chosen and following His ways.
